A 10 Hour Flight Change?

Periodically I will log into a website where a flight itinerary resides to check the details and make sure things have not changed. The last thing you want to do is to arrive at the airport 3 hours early only to find out that your flight already left. Although these websites are supposed to inform you of schedule changes, I know they don’t always happen. But what I found when I logged into my expedia.com website was enough to make me double-take, followed immediately by picking up the phone and calling expedia.

When I called expedia, they did some initial investigating and determined that there had been no schedule changes that they had been notified of, but a quick search in their database (which I also did online) indicated that the flights I had booked where in fact scheduled to depart at 1:00 am and not the 11:00 am departure time that I booked online. Fortunately I had the proof that was needed to prove that a) I was not crazy and b) something happened and I was not happy. I was not happy that my flight now left at 1:00 am, a full 10 hours prior to the flight that I booked. I certainly would not knowingly book a flight that departs and arrives in the middle of the night.

As I sit and wait what Expedia says, I’m hoping that they will refund me or at the very least allow me to rebook with a different airline, I am not holding my breath. I most likely will have to suck it up and deal with these flights. Time will tell. Stay tuned for more information.
