And the Winner is   This was a very hard contest for me to judge. I really enjoyed ALL of the submissions. Awesome shots to everyone, however, I have chosen Fidel's because not only does it portray the theme of Reflections to a "T" but I like the fact that it shows interaction between people. It is a great job! Congratulations Fidel! Fidel over at I Hart Travel submitted the following photo, saying "This photo was taken at a children’s home in Kuala Lumpur. I was there with US Navy Sailors on a community service visit. The female Sailor…

Today I received an email that my flights had been changed. Normally this would not be that big of a deal for me, however, the flights are leaving me with a bit of anxiety. Instead of a nonstop flight from MSP to IAD, I now have to fly through Chicago. The flight is scheduled to arrive into IAD with just 55 minutes to get to the terminal before the flight to Buenos Aires. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and there will not be any weather related delays! SCL - ORD - IAD - EZE - SCL Flight Information: 10-December-2011 (D)…

My entry for the 27th round of Photo Roulette: Cities an iconic photo of Amsterdam. A city of iconic small houses built along the canals. Postcards from the Road

Everyone (well most people) loves to receive postcards from people who are traveling. I got this idea from FOGG Odyssey about creating digital postcards. His idea is based on the creation and story telling. Since I'm not a good story teller, I'm just going to, for now, generate the "cards" to share. Eventually I will start to create a post around the various cards. But for now, hope you enjoy!

Zoom-Bursts Around the World

I sometimes like to pretend I am much more creative than I really am. I once read an article online about a technique called zoom-bursting. It involves setting your camera's shutter speed to a very slow setting, opening it up while your lens is at one end of its focal length and then quickly/slowly zooming it in/out to the opposite end of the focal length to produce desired affect. Here are a few of the photos I have produced over the past few years of this affect. [caption id="attachment_3054" align="alignnone" width="640"…
